They seem primitive in nature because of the lack of elaborate cities and governments, but they are linked and can communicate with their minds with almost infinite distance. The fact they all think independently while still being connected makes them very good at assessing any situation. They are brilliant in strategy.

They have weakness in their connection with darkness. Once they leave dark place they start to decay and after a while they go into frenzi and likely die. While in this frenzi state they have boosted all they abilities like strength and agility, it works like fight or flight system for them.

They don't need food. They get energy from darkness

What they don't realise for the longest time that the amount of minds connected to their network is indirectly proportional to speed of time they experience. That means more of them there is the slower time passes for them. So more Darmans more time they have for any evil they want to do.
